Conference discusses ways to help Maine's business climate

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State business leaders joined lawmakers at a conference focused on getting Maine's business climate from worst to first.

For four years running, Forbes has deemed Maine the worst state to do business in.

Tuesday's group heard from an entrepreneur from Utah, a state that sits at the top of Forbes' list.

While Alan Hall pointed out similarities between the two states, he acknowledged that what Utah has is a younger, growing population to help fuel their job growth. He says Maine is already a great place to live, but to bring in younger people, the state could offer better tax incentives.
