BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- On Thursday, members of the Mansion church took to the streets to write scripture in chalk.
According to the founder of the idea, Valance Bohm, this is a new medium of evangelization.
After years of battling addiction, Bohm found Christ at the Mansion Church, where he also met his fiancé, Victoria Irizarry.
The couple has been writing scripture on the sidewalks in downtown Bangor for the past three months.
The idea was originally sparked when Bohm was drawing on his driveway with his six-year-old daughter one day.
That’s when he came up with the idea to share the gospel with all of Bangor by writing scripture on the sidewalks.
Although the couple and their team has received much praise, not everyone is a fan of their work.
Some find it offensive and have even washed the work away. Despite the struggles, the couple says they’re determined to keep on going.
“There’s power in prayer, we pray for those people that make our lives difficult. We’re called to love each other,” said Irizarry.
