Bruce Glasier selected for MAB Hall of Fame

(NEWS CENTER) -- The NEWS CENTER family is extremely pleased to announce that our very own Bruce Glasier has been unanimously selected to become the newest member of the Maine Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

He found out Saturday during NEWS CENTER's broadcast of the 25th annual Lobster Bowl.

Bruce was the Sports Director as WCSH for 35 years before retiring in 2012. We cried with Bruce when the ball rolled through Bill Buckner's legs in 1986, and rejoiced when the Curse of the Bambino was broken in 2004. We watched Tom Brady win 3 Super Bowls, the Celtics win four world championship, and the Bruins win one Stanley Cup.

But Bruce's true passion and love is high school sports. With Lee Goldberg, Bruce started the often imitated but never duplicated 5th quarter, the first show in Maine dedicated to high school football. It's a legacy that lives on to this very day.

All of us, Bruce, want to congratulate you for an honor well-deserved.
