Body identified that was found in Penobscot River

STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Waldo County Sheriff's Department says a male body was pulled from the Penobscot River near Sandy Point on Sunday.

Police were notified just before noon that someone thought they saw a body floating down the river. Upon further investigation, Waldo County Sheriffs and Stockton Springs Fire Department located the body and helped to recover it from the river.

After being sent to the Medical Examiner's Office, it has been identified as 46-year-old Cecil Worster of Bangor.

Worster was reported missing to the Bangor Police Department on November 22, 2013.

Bangor Detective Myron Warner is the primary investigator assigned to the case by the Bangor Police Department.

At this point, there is no indication that Worster's death is suspicious.
