Saco man sentenced for Attempted Murder and Arson

ALFRED, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Saco man was sentenced on charges of Attempted Murder and Arson stemming from domestic violence charges that occurred in Dayton and Saco in October of 2012.

48-year-old Donald Henson was sentenced on Thursday. Henson entered pleas to the charge that he started a fire at his estranged wife's home in Saco, and shot at his wife while she was at her mother's house in Dayton on the day he she was granted a protective order against him.

Kimberly Henson and Barbara Curran were able to flee the home in Dayton and received protection from the police that responded to the scene.

Henson was charged twenty years for Attempted Murder, and five consecutive years for Arson. He will serve a total of eight years on probation, and he is prohibited from having contact with his victims while on probation and may not possess any firearms.
