BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS C ENTER) -- Store managers at the Biddeford Market Basket confirm that 270 part-time employees will be out of work this Sunday. That's along with thousands of other employees at stores in New Hamsphire and Massachusetts.
A spokesperson for the company says the employees will be out of work until the dispute between the them and the company is resolved. Employees say they will continuing picketing stores across New England until minority owner Artie T. Demoulas is reinstated by company's board of directors.
Meanwhile, the Boston Globe is reporting that Delhaize Group, the owners of Hannaford, may be interested in buying the company. A spokesmen for Hannaford says that the company does not "comment on rumors or speculation regarding plans to acquire or divest businesses."
