Crews battle apartment fire in Biddeford

BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Crews responded to an apartment fire located at 212 Elm St. in Biddeford Saturday afternoon.

No one was home at the time of the fire. No one was injured. However, a number of cats were killed.

The original calls came in around 1 p.m. Elm Street was closed as emergency crews battled the flames. Fire departments knocked down the fire and began cleaning up the scene around 2:15 p.m. Saturday.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. It is currently under investigation.
