WINDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A bicyclist was killed in a hit and run accident Wednesday night on Anderson Road.

Police say 25-year-old Brandon Dumond was traveling down Anderson Road when he was hit around 6:50 p.m. The driver of that car fled the scene. Dumond was pronounced dead at the scene, and Anderson Road was shut down while police investigated.

Roughly 20-30 minutes later, a car on nearby River Road was found off the road with the tail end resting up a tree. That driver was taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate whether the two crashes are related.
