Homeless woman identified, Waterville PD asks for support

Woman found in Waterville river identified.

WATERVILLE, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Waterville Police have released the identity of a woman found in the Kennebec River in Waterville.

Lexxi Sironen, 43, was found floating near the Lockwood Dam shortly after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Local police say Sironen had been living along the river with other homeless people.

Authorities have not determined how Sironen died.
Waterville Police have asked that anyone with information about Sironen's death, or final days, to contact them at (207) 680-4700.
