Four people arrested for drug trafficking

SIDNEY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — Two Mainers and a pair from New York were arrested Friday on multiple charges related to the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine.

Following a month-long investigation, deputies executed a search warrant early Friday morning at 179 Shepard Road in Sidney, according to Kennebec County Sheriff Ryan Reardon.

Derek Blake, 30, and Amanda Ware, 29, both of Sidney, along with Jacquette Jones, 19, and Demetrius Snow, 22, were all charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking crack cocaine, furnishing marijuana and criminal conspiracy.

During the arrests, police seized 1 ounce of crack cocaine, 8 grams of heroin, 0.5 pounds of marijuana and $1,000 cash.

"We continue to see the proliferation of heroin within our communities," said Sheriff Reardon. "These arrests are becoming more frequent and emerging in the rural areas of the state. We expect more arrests in the future."
