Auburn man charged in deadly heroin overdose case

AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- An Auburn man is in jail after the woman he provided heroin to overdosed and died, police say.

38-year-old Amy Jo Flood was found dead Monday afternoon when Auburn Police responded to a home on Washington Park Road for an overdose.

After investigating, police arrested 41-year-old Marc Colello and charged him for providing the heroin that Flood overdosed on.

Colello is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner also helped in the investigation.

“Flood’s death marks the 32nd overdose incident and fifth overdose death in Auburn this year," said Deputy Chief Jason Moen. "Auburn Police is committed to combating this epidemic that is killing our residents.”
