Alcohol, speed factors in fatal wreck on Route 228 in Perham: Police

PERHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine State Police say a person was killed after crashing into a culvert in Perham, Friday night.

Trooper Nathan Desrosier said the victim was speeding southbound on Route 228 at approximately 11:24 p.m. when they attempted to make a turn and crashed. The victim was ejected from the car when it became airborne and rolled over multiple times. 

According to police,the victim was not wearing a seat belt and died instantly, at the scene. Police are still investigating this crash but believe speed and alcohol are a factor.  No one else was hurt during this accident.
