BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced it will give the C&L Aviation Group a $2.5 million grant.
The company is responsible for inspecting and repairing aircraft from around the world and this money will allow them to expand their services.
Not only will it create more building space but it will also provide nearly 200 jobs.
When the Australian company moved its headquarters to Bangor in 2010, there were only 20 employees. Today that number has reached 160 and is already considered a success for company CEO Chris Kilgour.
“Seeing the success of the company is very rewarding," Kilgour said. "Being able to employ additional people and seeing them develop and grow is also very rewarding. I think it’s just great to be in a community like this where you can have a good impact."
C&L will be looking to hire and train all positions, from receptionists to aircraft mechanics. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2018.
