23-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries after car strikes her near USM

Forest Pedestrian Accident

UPDATE: Portland Police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Brittany Weston of Portland and say she was attempting to cross Forest Avenue when she was struck by minivan. The driver of that minivan has been identified as 35-year-old Lukas Rosov, also of Portland,

Police say Weston was not in a crosswalk at the time of the incident, which remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police at 207-874-8532 or 207-874-8575.

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A serious accident shut down two inbound lanes on Forest Ave. near University of Southern Maine Tuesday morning.

Two inbound lanes into Portland were shut down in front of  Glickman library at USM. Witnesses say it appears a pedestrian was struck and receiving CPR on the road.  Police have detained and are questioning two men at the scene.  Evidence techs are spray painting the pavement. 

The victim is on the ground and police are everywhere. We do not have any information on the victim's condition.
