The Maine Museum of Photographic Arts is hosting its first ever artist in residency.
Russian photographer Valeri Nistratov started out as a news photographer, but soon decided he liked the artistic freedom of going out on his own. He focuses on Russia and other Asian countries, with photos that can be both humorous and thought-provoking.
Right now you can see his pictures on the 5th floor of the University of Southern Maine's Glickman Family Library in Portland. The installation runs until December 29th.
