A Thanksgiving weekend tradition continues this year as Spencer Albee and a lot of his musical friends stage their annual Beatles tribute shows.
Albee's been doing it for 14 years. He and some friends started at a now defunct bar in Portland called The Big Easy. They had a crowd of about 250 people.
Now they play multiple shows at The State Theatre, often completely filling the venue.
It takes a lot of work to bring the shows together. They do themes and cover entire albums. Guitarist Sean Morin transcribes the songs (often by ear). And they start putting together the next year's show shortly after the completion of the current one.
If you're interested, tickets are still available for the matinee on 11/27.
