When you talk about roots music, some argue there is nothing more authentic, more American than ragtime.
It was popular for about fifteen years in the late 1890s and early 1900s, then fell out of favor as Americans embraced jazz.
Aaron Robinson is a composer and musician from Maine who loves ragtime music and has released a CD of works by Max Morath, a performer and writer and more who is known as "Mr. Ragtime." The CD is called "Max Morath - Complete Ragtime Works for Piano."
