1 person hurt in Portland home invasion

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Portland police are investigating a reported home invasion and robbery that sent one person to the hospital.

Police say three or four masked men dressed in black burst into a man's bedroom at Brookfield Apartments on Sunday afternoon and hit him in the head with what was described as a "blunt instrument."

The intruders demanded money from the victim, who gave them an undisclosed amount of cash before they fled in a four-door, dark car. No guns were shown.

When police arrived, the victim reportedly became uncooperative and refused to let officers inside. Police got a search warrant to enter the apartment and look for evidence.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

The intruders were described as white men in their 20s.
