Trump's election raises concerns about 'Obamacare' coverage

Obamacare concerns

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to repeal the Affordable Care Act on his first day in office.

That puts health coverage for 22 million Americans and thousands of Mainers, into question.

64 thousand people in the state get their insurance on three different exchanges.

Community Health Options has 60-thousand members.

The company has been getting calls from customers with concerns about losing their health care -- they are being told to sign up and their coverage will continue through next year.

'We know is something you can't change overnight, you just don't flip a switch and the affordable care act goes away,' said Director of Communications Michael Gendreau.

Officials say Trump legally can't change coverage because enrollment, which started on November first is underway and the plans are in effect until they run out next year.
