(NBC) -- Patent attorney Ross Robinson starts his day in an office that looks like most others. The difference is when he gets to his desk, he keeps on moving.

Robinson has a treadmill desk. He does everything his job requires him to while he's walking.

"I can talk on the phone, I can answer e-mail, I can type on the computer, most things I can do, so I'd say about six out of eight hours every day I'm on the treadmill," he explained.

It's helped him lose 25 pounds in about two months.

"I've got three young kids, family activities, commute, long work days as a lawyer, so I thought why can't I just do two at the same time," Robinson said.

Robinson did his research. The more he read about it, the more he believed a Tread-Desk could help him lose weight.

"When I looked into the research, they showed that depending upon your weight, you can burn 100 to 200 calories an hour just walking at a slow pace," he said.
