  • With all the beautiful weather we have been having it's time to get the kids outside to enjoy a little fresh air. On this Fit at Five we are teaching kids to play games like we used to play as kids. It's fun for the whole family. Plus it gives those video games a rest.

Paul Tukey has fond memories of playing outside as a kid, but children's memories like these have changed over the past 40 years thanks to video games. Remember pong? To help combat that he teamed up with Victoria Rowel to write Tag, Toss, and Run. A book filled with popular lawn games played all around the world.

"Those experiences as kids have shaped us as adults and have really shaped our values. We want to say to the world let's not relegate our old fashioned childhood to memory."

Playing games like these teach children how to resolve conflict. Plus with childhood obesity on the rise this gets kids outside and moving. The games in the book can be played as a family. The hope is that your children will then go on to teach others. Taking it back to the basics and having a ball. To that we say good game!

We have created a link for more information on Tag, Toss, and Run.
