Creepy clowns face child neglect charges

MENASHA, Wisconsin (Marisa DeCandido, WGBA) -- On October 7, Menasha Police Officers were dispatched to Appleton Road and Midway Road after receiving reports of people wearing clown masks and chasing after vehicles in the area.

Early Tuesday morning, Menasha police posted a video of the arrest on the department's Facebook page.

Officers located a 20 and a 29-year-old man who were involved in the incident. They also apprehended a 26-year-old female who had been driving the two men around.

Over the course of the investigation it was uncovered that the 29-year-old man and the 26-year-old woman left their 4-year-old child at home unattended while they were out participating in this prank.

It was determined that the child was left at home alone for a minimum of a few hours.

As a result, the child was placed outside of the home by the Department of Human Services.

The parents have been referred to court on charges of child neglect.

The female was also held in the Winnebago County Jail on a probation hold.
