WINDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Windham Police say a Portland man died Sunday morning from injuries he suffered in a two-car crash.

Sgt. Peter Fulton says Craig McPherson, a 28-year-old from Portland, died with his family by his side at 11:07 Sunday at Maine Medical Center.

Police say McPherson was travelling on Route 302 near Albion Road when 25-year-old Brittney Hersom of Sanford, crossed the center line, striking McPherson's vehicle head-on.

Officials say McPherson's 2008 Dodge Caliber and Hersom's 2014 Subaru sustained heavy damage in the collision.

Both McPherson and Hersom were transported to Maine Medical Center after the crash; Hersom's injuries were not life-threatening.

Route 302 was closed from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday while Windham Police investigated the accident.

Fulton says there are no criminal charges pending at this time.
