A very cold pattern has set up and if the computer models are correct it won't be changing anytime soon. Wave after wave of cold air is expected to move through our region keeping our temperatures well below normal and also kicking off a few snow showers. We can expect to see the first round of these to move through Wednesday afternoon with a second round possible Thursday afternoon. A ridge of high pressure should make for a sunny and quiet day on Friday and then give way to an approaching warm front on Saturday. The front will bring more clouds on Saturday and possibly some light snow Saturday night before retreating south in the face of more cold air. Below normal temperatures are likely to continue right into next week.
