GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The storm did not impact southern areas as much as other parts of the state.
West of Portland there were slick spots on the roads and sidewalks. The rain that fell during the early morning hours began to freeze around six o'clock Sunday morning, when the mercury dipped below freezing. People who ventured out in Gorham were taking it slow.
"Yeah I'm nervous, and I'm nervous about falling with what little ice there is here now," Rodman Holmes said.
"Just go slow, you know," Linda Gardner said. "Test your brakes. Make sure that you don't go too fast."
Road crews in Gorham were out if full force laying salt on the roads throughout the day.
