AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Unless it has happened to you, you can only imagine what it is like to have your life changed in an instant. To receive a diagnosis that threatens everything you hold dear.
Make of Wish Maine reaches out to families who know that shock, that helplessness, that constant worry which comes with having a sick or dying child.
It's goal... to make all of that disappear... if only for a little while... so that hurting families can feel whole again.
As Make A Wish continues it's Season of Wishes fundraising campaign, we want to share the story of Matt Neuhaus, who at the age of 9 went to the doctor with a cough that just wouldn't go away.
16 weeks ago Matthew got a heart transplant. His skin went from gray and pale to red and rosy. He was walking 36 hours after the operation. On Friday he went back to school and he is so happy to be there. The next big thing on his to do list: go to a movie with his friends.
Make A wish is raising money to grant wishes like Mathew's.
