CHAMBERLAIN LAKE, Maine - While in the midst of a successful search for two missing hunters, the Maine Warden Service added a third missing person to the search list.
Maine Wardens say that while the original search was taking place, they located a vehicle owned by a man from Canada whom Canadian authorities say has been missing since November 27th. Renald Poulin, 67, from Quebec, apparently crossed into the United States November 26th. Game Wardens say they located Poulin's 2002 Kia Sedona in the Chamberlain Lake area. Several Wardens and K9 units have been assigned to search for Poulin as well.
The previous search was issued for Travis Hafford, 33, of East Millinocket, and Ryan Stevens, also 33, of Millinocket, who have not been seen since Friday morning. They were found Sunday, two days after disappearing on a hunting trip.
Wardens say they are not looking for volunteers to aid in this search due to the remote area and the lack of mobile phone coverage. The Service says it is a difficult terrain to manage in the best of circumstances.
Information from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife was used in this report.
