Vassalboro man charged with murder

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man Friday in Vassalboro.

Courtney Shea, 30, is charged with murder in the death of 69-year-old Thomas Namer of Waterville. Investigators say Shea was the one who called police about the discovery of the body.

State Police say Namer died from stab wounds.

Shea was arrested by State Police on a probation violation. He was still in the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta when detectives notified him of the murder charge.

Investigators say the two men had known each other for some time. Shea is expected in court Tuesday morning.
