Portland Police arrest two in connection with Hall School burglary

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CNETER) -- Portland Police officers responded to a burglar alarm sounding at Hall Elementary School located at 23 Orono Rd.

Officers observed several males dressed in dark clothing fleeing from the back of the school. The subjects were pushing a cart loaded with 24 laptop computers. Minutes later, officers checking the area located a vehicle running in the driveway of 30 Sunset Avenue, in the backseat were several Apple desktop computers.

Officers located four individuals in the residence. Isaiah Taylor, 18, the owner of the vehicle, was arrested for Burglary. Daniel Perez, 20, and a 16 year old male were arrested for Criminal Trespass.
Portland Police Detectives executed a search warrant on Taylor's vehicle and recovered 15 Apple desktop computers as well as several other items stolen from the school. The estimated value of the recovered stolen property is $40,000.

Taylor is currently at the Cumberland County Jail. His bail has been set at $1,000. Taylor is currently scheduled to make his first appearance in Cumberland County Unified Criminal court on Monday. Perez was released on $100 bail. The juvenile who was arrested is being held at Long Creek Correctional Facility.

The investigation is continuing and Detectives expect to make additional arrests.
