AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police say two men are under arrest in connection with a home invasion in the town of Chesterville on Monday. A young girl was home at the time and was able to provide investigators with a description.

James Dingus, 31, and Stephen Dingus, 31, are facing charges from Franklin and Lincoln Counties in connection with several burglaries.

State Police say the two men call themselves brothers, but Stephen Dingus is the nephew of James Dingus. They were born five days apart.

Troopers saw James Dingus walking on Gage Street in Augusta and took him into custody. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Augusta Police assisted in locating Stephen Dingus in an apartment on State Street in Augusta. Investigators say Stephen Dingus jumped from a second story window to avoid arrest.

State Police, and detectives from Lincoln and Franklin Counties searched the Dingus' apartment at 37 Gage Street. Their car, a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina was also seized.
