MANCHESTER, Maine - NEWS CENTER has confirmed skeletal remains were discovered in Manchester, Maine this morning.
Maine State Police spokesperson Steve McCausland confirmed skeletal remains were discovered by hunters just off the Puddledock Road in Manchester Saturday morning. Kennebec County Sheriffs say they received a call at approximately 8:10 Saturday morning that hunters had come across what appeared to be human remains.
Deputies determined that the remains were those of an adult and that they had been at the location for some time. Maine State Police detectives were contacted and responded to the scene.
Several evidence recovery technicians collected the remains for further examination. The Medical Examiner's Office has been notified by the state police and will be awaiting the remains delivery.
McCausland added police were searching missing persons reports. Anyone with information on persons that may have been missing in that area are asked to call the Kennebec County Sheriff's office at 207 623-3591
