AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Gov. Paul LePage's five-day trade mission aimed at expanding opportunities for Maine businesses is moving on to Colombia.

The Republican governor and the Maine delegation are resuming meetings on Thursday after arriving in Bogota, Colombia on Wednesday.

They finished up their trip in Mexico on Tuesday night with a reception in Mexico City.

While in Mexico, LePage spoke to a group of investors and entrepreneurs about Maine and met with local businesses leaders.

LePage's office says that eight companies are participating in the mission with the goal of creating contacts and developing opportunities for private investment. Three Maine schools are also being featured on the trip.

LePage says in a statement that Maine companies are looking to become more competitive on the global market.
