AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine wildlife officials are holding public meetings focusing on the freshwater fisheries in the Kennebec River.
The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will offer up brief presentations about the status, ongoing research and the future of different sections of the river, followed up by question-and-answer sessions.
The first meeting is at 6 p.m. Monday in Bingham. Other meetings are scheduled for Thursday in Madison and next Monday in Fairfield.
Topics will include the recent history and current status of the Kennebec fisheries, management strategies and options available moving forward.
