WALDOBORO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Waldoboro police say someone backed his GMC truck into the entrance the Waldoboro Hannaford in an attempt to steal an ATM.
The Lincoln County News reports that the early morning hours of October 8, the truck smashed in front entrance of the Hannaford store. The truck is a two-tone GMC 2500 with an unknown number of subjects who attempted to steal the ATM.
Waldoboro Police tell The Lincoln County News that the call came in at 3:31 a.m. and at that time, the truck and ATM were still at the scene when the police arrived. Both the truck and the ATM are now being held at the Waldoboro Municipal Building.
Police say that no no items were found to be missing from the store and no suspects are currently in custody. The incident remains under investigation by Waldoboro Police, with assistance from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Maine State Police.
