(NEWS CENTER) -- Maine's two U.S. Senators are taking some heat for their words and their votes on the government shutdown this week. Ray Richardson of WLOB Radio and WPME-TV, and Bill Nemitz of the Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram go In The Arena with Pat Callaghan.
Richardson and Nemitz discuss Sen. Susan Collins's votes on a Continuing Resolution and whether it should be linked to Obamacare, and Sen. Angus King's comments describing people trying to convince students not to buy health insurance as 'murderers.'
They find much room for disagreement about the root causes of the federal government shutdown.
They also talk about the current efforts in Augusta to cut $33.7 million from the current budget, and a new proposal to have recipients of TANF benefits prove they have looked for work.
