Fundraiser helps those displaced in Old Port fire

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A fundraiser Saturday helped the several businesses and three families displaced by a fire in Portland's Old Port. 

Pub crawlers from all walks of life gathered to raise a pint starting at Rosie's Pub on Fore Street.

Beer lovers stopped at 4 different pubs where they were able to draw a playing card At the end of the bar hopping, the best poker hand won a grand prize.

Collection jars were set up at each stop to gather donations. For the employee of Joe's NY Pizza who created this event, anything to help those displaced is worth it.

The fire happened on September 20th. Investigators have since determined the fire was accidental, but are unsure of the cause.
