HAMPTON, New Hampshire (NEWS CENTER) - Hampton Police have arrested 19-year-old Darriean Hess in connection to hitting a group of four bicyclists, two of which died from the collision.
Police say Hess is charged with two Class B Felony counts of Negligent Homicide and two Class B Felony Counts of Second Degree Assault. Each of the Class B felonies is punishable by a maximum sentence of 3 ½ to 7 years and fines up to $4,000 for each offence.
It is alleged that September 21, 2013 at approximately 8:30 am Hess was driving a vehicle southbound on Ocean Blvd. at a high rate of speed and crossed the double solid lines striking a group of four bicyclists travelling northbound.
Police say Pamela Wells of South Hamilton, Mass., and Elise Bouchard of Danvers, Mass were killed in the collision. Uwe Uheymer of Essex, Mass and Margo Heigh of Danvers, Mass were injured.
The Hampton Police Department say they are still investigating the incident.
