Medical marijuana dispensaries fined for using pesticides

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The state of Maine has fined the operator of four medical marijuana dispensaries for using pesticides in violation of state law and program rules.

A state investigation of Wellness Connection of Maine, which has dispensaries Hallowell, Portland, Thomaston and Brewer, found nine pesticides at the company's cultivation facilities and 20 violations in the last year.

Wellness connection was fined 18-thousand dollars-- they say the fine has been paid and they have revamped their operations.
