From the standpoint of rainfall Tuesday was a big improvement over Monday but as far as the humidity goes it was the same old story. Very muggy conditions were still being reported at 6 PM especially east of a Portland to Lewiston line. Now for some good news. A slow moving cold front is going to push off the Maine coast tonight and once it goes by a westerly wind will transport drier air into our region. Wednesday is shaping up to be a very nice day with mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the upper 70s and comfortable humidity levels. Some late day clouds are possible as there will be another cold front headed our way from Canada. This front should move through rather quickly with very little in the way of rainfall. There could be a few early morning showers on Thursday and these will quickly give way to clearing skies and much cooler weather. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will top out in the upper 60s and that is a bit chilly for the time of year. A slight warming trend is expected over the weekend.
