AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Gov. Paul LePage says there is good news for Maine's economy: Businesses are expanding their operations and adding hundreds of new jobs in the state.

In his weekly radio address, the Republican governor pointed to some of the recent "success stories" for Maine's economy, such as the announcement that Barclaycard will add 100 new jobs by the end of the year at its customer contact center in Wilton.

LePage often says that Maine's high taxes contribute to its dismal business climate and cause companies to flee the state.

But he says that during a recent U.S. Manufacturing Summit in Florida, several companies, including a beauty company from China, said they were interested in moving to Maine.
