PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Kids were creating with little more than cardboard on the Eastern Promenade Saturday.

The Children's Museum and Theater of Maine held a Pop-Up Playscape event at the waterfront park in Portland. EcoMaine provided lots of recycled materials, and kids used their imaginations to create all kinds of structures from castles, to drive-thru bakeries, and even costumes. The activity is designed to teach kids how to think creatively and solve problems. But they just see it as a fun challenge.

This was the second pop-up Playscape in the city. There was another event last month in Kennedy Park.
