TURNER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police say they are investigating the death of a 57-year-old man at the Moark Egg Farm in Turner.
Investigators say the man was wounded Monday afternoon while another worker was shooting a .22 caliber rifle to kill rodents and stray chickens inside a chicken barn. The man who was shot collapsed while he was attempting to leave the barn. He died while he was being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The victim's name is being withheld until his family is notified.
Moark is owned by Land O'Lakes.
State Police detectives spent Monday evening at the farm interviewing farm employees.
