OFF VINALHAVEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Up to ten feet long, weighing as much as two tons... they're not your average tourist.
But then, the Ocean Sunfish is the world's largest bony fish.
Jeremy Philbrook spotted one basking in the ocean off of Vinalhaven in the second week of August.
Sunfish tend to prefer tropical or temperate waters and, like most tourists, only make it into New England in the summer.
Despite their gargantuan, icthyan bulk, they only have tiny little mouths and mostly eat invertebrates, posing virtually no threat to humans.
