BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Fans of Miranda Lambert had to wait a little longer than expected for Friday nights concert.

Gaits were supposed to open at 5pm, but due to a severe thunderstorm that moved through the Bangor area, people didn't start to move through the gates of the Waterfront Pavilion till around 6:30pm.

Many of those fans relieved to find that the smell of the seating area had improved from past concerts. Concert organizers met with city officials to discuss complaints they were getting about an odor coming from the turf. As a result of that meeting, City Crews worked through out the week to add additional drainage as well as replace the grass turf with a new stone surface to get things ready for what is expected to be a sell out crowd for Miranda Lambert.

"Oh it's going to be an amazing show. I mean this is still one of the premier venues in the northeast to see events regardless of a stinky couple of show runs where we had," said Waterfront Concert President, Alex Gray.

This is the second time that Miranda Lambert will be performing at the waterfront, she last took the stage in 2010.
