AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - With two months to go before the enrollment opens on the health care exchange, Mainers are getting an early look into what they'll pay for insurance.
Maine's Bureau of Insurance on Wednesday released rate information for the two companies that will be offering coverage on the exchange, part of the federal health care overhaul.
Residents can begin purchasing insurance on the exchange Oct. 1.
Hundreds of pages of documents were released and experts are still determining what it means for consumers. The bureau plans to release a summary next week to better explain the new rates.
Mitchell Stein of Consumers for Affordable Health Care says some things are immediately apparent in the rates. He says Mainers won't see as high of deductibles as they have in the past.
