WATERBORO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Officials in Waterboro have found the person they believe to have caused approximately $25,000 to $35,000 in damage at the Lakeside Market, 411 Sokokis Trail in Waterboro.

York County Sheriff's Office says 52-year-old Craig Matt of Poland Springs has been summoned for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to give notice by quickest means.

Officials say Matt was driving for P & C Auto out of Windham when his flatbed tow truck backed into a diesel pump at Lakeside Market. Store owners told sheriffs that the pump was inoperative. They say the damage is estimated at approximately $25,000 to $35,000.

After looking at surveillance video, it showed a red flatbed tow truck backed into the pump and left the scene at approximately 11:45PM on Wednesday night.

Officials say that the truck then fled south on Sokokis Trail toward Route 202.

The sheriff's office says the truck is an International Model that was carrying a Ford Windstar Mini-van with two mattresses strapped to the roof.

Matt is scheduled to appear in Springvale Court on October 29th.
