MILLINOCKET, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Just two weeks after it was struck down by town voters, a proposed school budget for the Millinocket school district will once again go back to the polls.

Millinocket voted to reject the school budget proposed by the town council on July 9. At $6.3 million town leaders were recommedning abudget $300,000 less from what the school board here wanted.

Residents will vote on the budget again next Tuesday July 30. Millinocket is facing a cash flow problem where the town only has enough money to pay expenses for a few weeks. Town leaders responded by cutting $300,000 from the municipal budget. They wanted to see the school budget trimmed by the same amount.

Polls will be open at Stearns High School on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
