AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - According to Maine DOT, Hotel road, in Auburn, will be closed for approximately 45 days starting on July, 29th.
The closure is for the replacement of Littlefields Bridge which runs along the Little Androscoggin River in Auburn. DOT officials say that signs will help guide motorists along the 8 mile detour route that will be in place starting in the early morning hours of Monday, July 29th.
They also say that the portion of Hotel road that will be closed is limited to the bridge that carries traffic over the Little Androscoggin River. All other parts of Hotel Road will be accessible.
Maine DOT says that they hope the bridge will open for motorists by the middle of September.
The cost of the repair will be $2.1 million.
