PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- You may have heard that a baby was born Monday. No, not that one. While Britain's newest prince has been busy stealing the headlines, a baby right here in Maine has been stealing hearts.

Sloane Kathryn Taaffe shares a birthday (7/22/13) and a birth weight (8 lbs 6 oz) with the third in line to the British throne.
In a private hospital room, on July 22nd, 2013 -- a beautiful 8 pound 6 oz baby came into the world. But that's about where the similarities end. She's a girl, she's American, and her birth was certainly more low-key.
Tuesday, the international press breathlessly waited for a first glimpse of Britain's little prince, while NEWS CENTER got "exclusive" video of Sloane. And Mom, whose name is Mindy Brigham, not Kate Middleton, is totally OK with that.
"I think that would be crazy to have that much attention. I wouldn't like it," she said.
To announce Sloane's arrival, her mom and dad, "made phone calls to our family and friends." The prince's birth was posted in front of Buckingham Palace, and announced by a crier.
Sloane's parents also don't expect her to inherit a kingdom, rather, "great family values, wonderful parents."
She may not be royalty, but Sloane Kathryn Taaffe will always be her parents' little princess.
