The temperature hit 95 degrees at the Portland Jetport Friday afternoon setting a new record for July 19th. Most locations topped out in the low to mid 90s and this coupled with dew points in the low 70s made for very uncomfortable conditions. There is relief on the way but before it gets here we will have to deal with another hot and sticky day on Saturday. A cold front is expected to move our way and as it interacts with the humid air over us showers and thunderstorms will develop and some of these could bring severe weather to our region Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. The front should move off the Maine coast by midnight with cooler and drier air arriving for Sunday. High pressure will dominate our weather Sunday and Monday and then give way to an area of low pressure on Tuesday.
